Department of Social Development

  • Concept development for the Active Aging programme’s cultural challenge. In embracing the department’s mission and strategic objectives arising from the Older Persons Act, No. 13 of 2006, the Golden Games project was proposed as a mechanism/vehicle that could elevate the activities of older persons to a higher level. The Act seeks “to deal effectively with the plight of older persons by establishing a framework aimed at the empowerment and protection of older persons and at the promotion and maintenance of their status, rights, well-being, safety and security; and to provide for matters connected therewith”. Rujeko Promotions consulted with various communities and older persons’ organizations/clubs through workshops, mini conferences and developed all communication vehicles to promote the Act among the communities
